Jesus is a Hard Sleeper

Early Monday morning Grand Rapids was hit by a terrible storm. My family told me that, at one point, the storm was so intense that thunder shook the house. “Why did your family have to tell you this?” I hear someone asking. Well, they had to tell me this because I slept through the whole thing. I sleep so hard that, when my oldest was about two or three years old, my wife had him sit on my head and bounce up and down to try and wake me. I never woke up. I don’t want to even imagine the other things she’s done and does to me while I sleep. Lol! My name is Marvin, and I am a hard sleeper. I would imagine if you are anything like me, there are times you feel like Jesus is a hard sleeper, too. I mean:
Storms shake the house
Waves overwhelm us
We’re alone in the middle of the lake,
We’re groping through the darkest point of the night,
We’re straining as we attempt to make appreciable progress.
There feels like great distance between us and Jesus
Even if he does come, it looks like he’s blessing everyone else, and it feels like he’s going to pass by us.
And we call on Jesus and call on Jesus and call on Jesus, and there is no answer. Like the disciples in Luke 8:22-25, sometimes we feel like Jesus is a hard sleeper, totally unaware of the relational, financial, emotional, and spiritual terrorists that stalk and terrorize our lives.
I want to assure you that he is not a hard sleeper. He is fully aware and fully present. He sees us when we don’t see him, He comes to us when we can’t get to him, and he speaks to us when we can’t speak to him. This is what he says to us:
Take courage!
It is I.
Don’t be afraid.
When have you felt like Jesus was a hard sleeper and was unaware of your storms? How did you respond? What was the hardest part about trusting him in the middle of the storm?

Oh Yes, for a week I have been try to get Him to answer me so I will know if i should or should not do something.
It is not wrong or right, but He has not said no, or yes or wait. I would think He is sleeping except the word said He never sleeps. I know the word is true, so what is up.

Man, I am feeling you on this one. Although I know he doesn't sleep, but there are times it feels like it. There are some prayers I am glad that he didn't answer. But, in the middle of all of the storms, we are assured of his presence. Sometimes he shows up and passes by, not to deliver us, but to show us that he is still God. Grace and peace.

I know he doesn't sleep nor slumber (I used the title to grab the attention). I do believe he is AWAKE and FULLY PRESENT and listening to you. I wonder if he gives up several good options and gives us the freedom to make a faith filled decision. I believe will not be 100 percent certain about a decision, but he does give us a high level of clarity. I am thinking about a decision I have to make. I am not 100 percent certain, but based on things I know about myself and my gifting, I have a high level of clarity as to what I should do. I hope this helps a little. Grace and peace.

i know He never sleeps. I know He is the all sovereign, all powerful God. I know His work is for a purpose, not to necessarily make lisabirch happy. if i could just put my own expectations to sleep sometimes, and let the truth be truth, I would have more peace in my life.

They say that the Lord is never late and always ON TIME. The Client has sat down on the monies. We are having a hard time Lord with reviewing, playing all the scenes back in our head, aloud also between one another trying to figure out this man. He says he is a man of God and in fact has named his company fruit bars, THE BIBLE Bar with references to Deut 8:8. I can't understand any of his actions. Give him an invoice for work performed, he pays WHAT he wants to. How can this be" This man has had my husbands undivided attention, and says in one breath he is out of money, and going to file Bankrupcy…then comes to the auction and buys workout equipment on our auction #> Puts a deposit on his, and then says he can't come up with the other $500. He can but only when he feels like it…. Marvin I need immediate, prayer from a prayer warrior while Bob my husband is going to see another man, with a discount for another building right now………..to cover tracks from the original building. ALot of people, suppliers, depend on the $'s, its a trickle down affect…Tom the man, is hurting numerous families. Shameful in the name of the Lord….LOST,Maggie

Well, He did hear and He did answer, He waited to see if I was following and listened, but I got the answer, it was at the last moment, but He answered and said Yes. I know It was Him, I have great peace.
