Editing My Life
I am always looking for powerful questions I can use or that my closest friends can use to edit and vet my life. Though I will add to this list, here is a list of questions that I think am going to settle on for a while. These questions were produced by the Church Multiplication Association. The ten questions are as follows:
1. Have you been a testimony this week to the greatness of Jesus Christ with both your words and actions?
2. Have you been exposed to sexually alluring material or allowed your mind to entertain inappropriate thoughts about someone who is not your spouse this week?
3. Have you lacked any integrity in your financial dealings this week, or coveted something that does not belong to you?
4. Have you been honoring, understanding and generous in your important relationships this past week?
5. Have you damaged another person by your words, either behind their back or face-to-face?
6. Have you given in to an addictive behavior this week? Explain.
7. Have you continued to remain angry toward another?
8. Have you secretly wished for another’s misfortune so that you might excel?
9. Did you finish your reading this week and hear from the Lord? What are you going to do about it?
10. Have you been completely honest with me?
What do you think about these questions? Are there others you can add to this list? Do you have someone in your life who can edit your life with these questions?

Powerful! I'm a recovering concealer. Meaning I am not quick to share these kind of answers. But Oh how I (and we) need the help of others to edit our lives — in grace.

How about, 'Have you taken the credit for something, when you should have given God glory instead?'
I agree. We need people in our lives who can ask these questions of us.

Brian, you are spot on. Sharing the answers to these are not easy, but I believe God can and will strengthen us to open up little by little to men who we consider to be safe. We are accepted in Christ based on his finished work alone, but the enemy tries to make us believe we are accepted based on what we do or don't do. As men, we need other men to vet our lives. I am still learning to open up my life and to be known, loved and cared for by others. Let's walk this road together. Blessings!

Karen, I like that question. I will most definitely add that one to the list. I believe God will bring the right people as we pray, observe, and actually open up to others. When we dare to open our lives to another human being, there are inherent risks. Yet, this is what we are called to as followers of Jesus. When we open our arms to love, that when we are most vulnerable to be speared in the side. This is what our Leader and Lord did – opened his arms to embrace us in relationship. He calls us to follow him. Let's take the risk to be loved, known, and cared for by another human being.

"I believe God will bring the right people…"
About six years ago God brought a wonderful woman into my life who became my mentor/spiritual director. He has used her in amazing ways in my life. And I am so thankful!
But she is moving to Texas in June, and I am so sad to see her go.
Even so, God brought Jenni into my life, and I trust Him to show me another person with whom I can be open, and through whom He will continue to shape me.

great Questions, I might also add.. Have you judged someone for their failures without first praying for them to find strength to overcome their weakness
